Hey! I love God, minimalism, fashion, sustainability, and much more. "Know Thyself" is my mantra.
I want you all to laugh, learn, and grow with me!

Thought I’d share my cute pictures of my students. For some reason, they have been randomly posing with books about iconic Black figures. I couldn’t resist snapping a photo of them.
I hope they’ll one day sit down and reflect on the lives of these men and come to their own enlightened truths about the world.
I enjoy peplum and this blazer is a sophisticated approach to the trend. I would pair this jacket with something bright or with a print or pattern to lighten it up. I’m not entirely sure of the reason for the steep discount, but I saw it wasn’t on sale online. It had a clearance online item sticker, which suggests it may have been an exchange or return from an online purchase. Either way, I’m happy to the discount.
#2. Mossimo Beige & Neon Crossbody Satchel
Originally: $29.99. In-store Clearance: $14.98
God must have been smiling down on me today because this purse was the only one of its kind in the store. I stumbled on it and had to snag it at 50% off. It’s a good size– not big enough to hold a child, but big enough for my necessities. It was just just in the nick of time, because the duct-taped handles on my school tote bag were getting embarrassing. This will be my travel companion this weekend. It seems very versatile.
#3. Dalmatian-print Skirt
Originally: $19.99. In-Store Clearance: $5.98
I’ve been looking to add some prints into my wardrobe and this quirky skirt fits the bill. I love the color and the details. At the icing on the cake was that it came with it’s own belt. I’m a sucker for almost anything that comes with a belt included. This particular belt is a versatile cognac brown color. I could easily wear it with other outfits.
Today was definitely a good day for shopping. I think my findings might have been by happenstance. I wouldn’t expect to see these crazy discounts everywhere.
In total, I saved $33.74 + $15 + $14 = $62.74 saved!!

Follow my Instagram at March has been awesome! God has been really showing out this month! I’ve learned a lot and have been growing and putting things into perspective. Speaking of growing, my hair has been growing like a weed. Check out this post tracking my growth this month. Click here to view it.
I just wanted to share some pictures of my hair, since it’s been growing so much (at least by my standards)
Fresh Retwist. Marley twist hair Mohawk.Retwisted roots a week later.Bun status! Three weeks into March.Easter hair. Semi-fail loc knots. Still loved them though!
Length check:
Hair is now past my shoulders. When stretched they reach past my clavicles. Fullness is still at the top of my head.
I’ve never seen my hair grow this much! I have been able to do so much with them. I can’t believe I once thought I’d be restricted with my hair like this.
Earlier this month, I found out that I got into a grad school program at Syracuse University. I’m so excited!! I’ll be visiting the campus next week and I’ll share my adventure with you all. Meanwhile, I will be searching for some suitable coats and jackets for my journey.
This Sunday, Tribe of Judah (Braeswood Church’s Young Adult choir) led worship to the congregation. It was awesome and anointed. We were rocking the house upstairs in Worship. Although Tribe of Judah only ministers once a month, it’s always a blessing to minister to the church. I thank lead Pastor Steve Banning for allowing us to serve in this capacity. I equally thank our fearless leader, worship Pastor Zeke Listenbee, for rallying us up and empowering us to form Tribe of Judah. We have grown so much as a group and it shows every time we minister.
I especially enjoyed this Offertory today. “All I Have To Give” by Mali Music Covered by siblings- Adaeze Onyenezi, Chisom Onyenezi, Arinze Onyenezi

THIS is why I love my church. Community. We recently started renovations on our church sanctuary and at first, I thought we would lose some members because of all the changes. Instead, our seemingly “mega” church has shrunken in size. It has become more intimate and I’m meeting people I never knew went to Braeswood Church. I have become enamored with the pastoral staff, whose love for God’s people has made the transition seamless. Going off to graduate school will be a little bittersweet because I am loving this season of growth my church is in. I am glad God allowed me to be here for such a time.
Today, I had the opportunity to lead worship at Texas Multicultural Women’s Prayer Breakfast. The Emcee, April Tone, was a phenomenal host for the occasion.
First, my outfit of the day (OOTD):
Check out my original post (click the picture) about this thrifted dress that I got for under $5
The front of my hair was a lopsided Marley braid-hair bun. The back was my hair in a sloppy french braid. Look, it’s growing!
Here’s the song I sang:
Thought I’d share a secret about myself:
I’m a big goof when it comes to lyrics and order of songs. I’m notorious for making my fingers cheat sheets for the music. Here’s my cheat for one of the songs I did today.
Think you can decode it? Give it a shot in the comment section below:
I may not have mentioned it, but I occasionally get the privilege to lead worship at my church, Braeswood Church. The band and I were running through a few songs in a sound check and we recorded a few. Enjoy!
