Living at home does not make you a loser.

There. I said it. Now we can all move on with our lives.

Hi, my name is Timi. I’m a 23 year old teacher, and I live with my parents.

…You still there? What, no laughter? No judgment? Oh, that’s right. I’m in the same position as 85% of young Americans. I’m not ashamed of it anymore, but I once was.

google search “living at home” = this photo. HAHAHAH!

When I first moved back to my hometown for work, I was dragging my feet the entire way. I love my family, and I’d missed them while I was gone, but I was not ready to co-habitate with them again. Honestly, I had lived by myself for the past year and enjoyed the opportunity to live in solitude and do whatever I pleased. So to me, moving back home initially seemed like a tying a leash around my neck. Dramatic, I know….

DIY “Diamond” Necklace

For the longest time, I have been trying to find the perfect solitaire diamond necklace. I wanted one with a thin chain and a small round diamond. After combing through Amazon, Ebay, and etsy and not finding anything I liked within my price range, I headed over to Hobby Lobby to make my own.

Taadaaaa!

The chain was on clearance for $1.47 and the gem came in a pack of 6 or 8 for around $4. I say that’s money well spent. The search for the diamond necklace is over!

Product Review: Flexi Tail (Phone stand)

Every once in a while, I find an “As Seen on TV” product that has found its way to the dollar store. When products are $1, instead of 6 payments of $19.99, they’re so much more appealing. At The Dollar Tree today, I found a product called the “Flexi,” a mobile tail stand. It holds your phone upright, I suppose so that your hand doesn’t get cramped while you’re trying to view a movie on your phone or something.

So I gave it a try. It works in 3 easy steps.

#1. Place the suction cup on the back of your phone

(note: the suction cup is a strong little guy!)

#2. Lean phone into a comfortable position

#3. Feed the end of Flexi tail into the audio jack (optional)

And viola! You have a phone stand! I’ve always wanted one of these, I think. Well, now I have one. I think this is an innovative product. I might not have bought it, but I saw the cashier at the Dollar Tree using one and she demonstrated how it works.

Thanks Dollar Tree, for a cool new toy! :)
