In April 2014, I was one of 15 speakers at the inaugural TEDxSyracuseUniversity event.
Here is my bio: Timi Komonibo is a graduate student at Syracuse University from Missouri City, Texas. Timi has a fashion and lifestyle blog (NaturaleChronicles.com) where she discusses topics ranging from fashion to travel. She recently started a fashion nonprofit called STYLE LOTTERY, where she advocates for sustainable fashion and fashion philanthropy.
Thirteen entrants—both individuals and teams—have been selected as winners in the Fast Forward competition, in which the University will fund student projects that demonstrate how Syracuse University and its students can have a positive impact on the world. The winners presented their ideas for the Chancellor, Board of Trustee members and fellow students at the Fast Forward event as part of the Chancellor’s Inauguration. The student projects will be awarded grants of as much as $1,500 to fund the completion of their projects.
This award has been just the time of encouragement Style Lottery needs. I have been hosting closet swaps for quite a few years now. It’s been a lot of work to coordinate, but they’re always worth the “trouble.” Cheers to bigger and better swaps in the future! Following the presentation, I ended up in the Daily Orange newspaper:
I was featured on College Fashionista last week. I got to know the photographer, Melissa Martinez (photographer who took Ashley’s street style pictures) and was impressed with how easy she was to work with.
Hello to those of you who are new to Naturalechronicles.com!
Allow me to introduce myself professionally:
Here is my resume:
Many of you are well-acquainted with my fashion-oriented side, but haven’t seen me operate in a professional arena. I will create a portfolio tab on the navigation menu so you all can occasionally check in and see what I’m up to.
There. I said it. Now we can all move on with our lives.
Hi, my name is Timi. I’m a 23 year old teacher, and I live with my parents.
…You still there? What, no laughter? No judgment? Oh, that’s right. I’m in the same position as 85% of young Americans. I’m not ashamed of it anymore, but I once was.
google search “living at home” = this photo. HAHAHAH!
When I first moved back to my hometown for work, I was dragging my feet the entire way. I love my family, and I’d missed them while I was gone, but I was not ready to co-habitate with them again. Honestly, I had lived by myself for the past year and enjoyed the opportunity to live in solitude and do whatever I pleased. So to me, moving back home initially seemed like a tying a leash around my neck. Dramatic, I know….
Although, I’m too late in getting to this, I want to give a special shout out to MIQ from Three Descriptors who nominated me for a blogging award. This is awesome, especially because I was sure only my mom read my blog I just started style blogging this year. I’m excited and humbled :).

Hey peeps! The past couple of weeks have been very busy, with school closing out and a lot has been going on. Just wanted to stop and share my “Blogger of the Week” award from Houston Fashion Bloggers:
I’m humbled to be given this nomination by the talented bloggers at Houston Fashion Bloggers. I’m also excited and encouraged by all the encouraging feedback I’ve been getting from family, friends, and even strangers. I started Naturale Chronicles for people who, like me, who were going through a transitioning time in their lives. Whether it be graduating from college, moving to a new city, going natural, changing up your look, I relate to you in some way. I want to share my experiences with you so we can learn together.
June 1st is Naturale Chronicles’s 1/2 birthday! To celebrate NC turning 6 months old, I will be having a giveaway!! Stay tuned for more details.
NC currently has 30 followers and 3,000 page views, and that’s just enough encouragement for for me. I look forward to more adventures and collaborations in the future. Thank you, supporters and readers, for letting me be me.
